Purpose: Lancashire County Council provided Preston City Council with a grant of £30,000 for projects to encourage residents to use existing walking and cycling infrastructure. In the autumn of 2024 a grant commissioning exercise was undertaken to appoint organisations to undertake active travel projects to deliver the objectives specified in the grant.

In the autumn of 2024 a grant commissioning exercise was undertaken to appoint organisations to undertake active travel projects to deliver the objectives specified in the grant. Resolved – That the Cabinet Member for Community Wealth Building approved the awarding of grants as follows:   (i)            Supporting cycle commuting – Preston Pedals - £8,080. (ii)          Accessible cycling events – Wheels for All - £9,996. (iii)         Widening participation in walking – Preston Muslim Forum - £6,460. (iv)         Widening participation in walking - Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust - £4,880.
