Purpose: 1.1 The purpose of this report is to request that a slightly amended version of NCC’s Lettings Policy 2017 is agreed (Appendix 1). This is to provide further clarity on the application of the ‘additional preference’ and ‘local connection’ criteria that apply to certain members and former members of the Armed Forces, and their spouses or civil partners. This has been instigated by changes to the Allocation of Housing (Qualification Criteria for Armed Forces) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2024, S.I.2024/1225 which were made on 26 November 2024 – and come into force on 18 December 2024.

Content: It is recommended to agree and implement the amended version of NCC’s Lettings Policy 2017.
