Purpose:

Content: Cabinet approved the following admission arrangements for the 2026/2027 school year:   ·       Community School Admission Arrangements, as set out at paragraphs 15 to 17 of the report.   ·       Community School Nursery Admission Arrangements, as set out at paragraphs 15 to 17 of the report.   ·       Primary Co-ordinated Admission Arrangements, as set out at paragraphs 18 to 21 of the report.   ·       Secondary Co-ordinated Admission Arrangements, as set out at paragraphs 18 to 21 of the report.       Councillor Sue Farmer, Cabinet Member for Equalities, Education and Skills introduced a report, which set out the requirements for the adoption of schemes for co-ordinating the Admission Arrangements for Primary and Secondary Schools and sought Cabinet’s approval of the Admission Arrangements for the City of Doncaster’s Community Schools for the 2026/2027 School Year.   The co-ordinated admission arrangements to schools is a statutory responsibility of the Council and must be determined annually.   The overall context of schools in Doncaster has seen the number of schools judged good or outstanding by Ofsted increase and is now above average, with a significant improvement from the same time last year, when we had 79% of schools good or outstanding. Additionally, outcomes for pupils in Doncaster have improved for all stages of education from Early Years through to Key Stage 5.   The Council has a duty to ensure that there are sufficient accessible and affordable places for children across a range of provision types and provides support and guidance as necessary. Further details to the Admission Arrangements 2026/2027 and Co-ordinated Admission Arrangements 2026/2027 can be found within paragraphs 15 – 21. The options considered were set out in paragraphs 24 to 32 of the report. None.
