Content:   Resolved by the Portfolio Holder for Housing.   That the Council House Adaptation Policy be approved. (i)                          The Council has a duty to consider housing conditions in the district and have regards to the needs of chronically sick and disabled persons. This includes the adaptation of Council owned homes to meet the needs of disabled tenants. (ii)                         The purpose of the policy is to set out the Council’s approach to effecting referrals for the provision of disabled adaptions in the homes of its tenants.   Not to approve adoption of the Council House Adaptation Policy. While the policy could be altered not approving a policy is not an option as the Policy will assist decision making when processing adaptations, defend against any challenges relating to adaptations decisions and help to provide consistency in delivery of adaptations across our housing stock. Statutory compliance also requires an adaptation policy is in place, therefore not approving to adopt the policy is not recommended.
