Purpose:

Content: Having heard from the Area Manager, the Committee agreed:-   (1)      Action 3 – to note that “the Ugie Street Depot welfare upgrade for landscape and waste services is currently out to tender with an award scheduled to take place on 16 December 2024.  It is hoped then that the works will be on-site early January 2025 and will be an 8-week programme for completion in March 2025.  At the moment, the immediate focus on expenditure is on the welfare upgrade element of the work and less so for the reinforced concrete yard and external works”,   (2)      Action 4 – to note in relation to “the Balmoor Terrace crossing, the assessments have been undertaken for a number of sites and these will be reviewed on 4th December to determine which sites will progress to design and construction and there will be feedback following that meeting. In terms of West Road, the design work continues. There is an issue with insufficient visibility coming off the roundabout to the crossing which is causing some problems which are proving difficult to resolve while still meeting design and standards guidance; the relevant officers have a meeting to discuss this issue and an update will come forward”, and to seek a further update from the said meeting,   (3)      Action 7 – to note in relation to “the Clerkhill Shops and public realm, there was a meeting between Roads colleagues and a fabricator on 13th November. Handrails will be installed within 4-6 weeks from that date i.e. this month. These will be steel handrails. The anti-slip surfacing will then be installed by Roads though this will need a day of decent weather”, and to seek a further update,   (4)      Action 8 – to note that “the first request is scheduled for 10th December and in relation to the second request a written response was provided to Members via email on 2nd December” but that this action be retained for further discussion, and   (5)      Action 11 – to request that the Area Manager seek an update from Roads and report back to the Community Council before the year-end
