To: (a) accept Department for Education (DfE) revenue grant funding of £3m (b) agree for the City Council to act as Accountable body for the financial management of these funds. This project will support training for unemployed and employed individuals to upskill themselves in a range of subjects such as digital, green skills, construction, logistics and other subject area, which will help grow the economy and create further employment opportunities for the individuals. To do nothing would limit the support available to residents to gain new skills which in turn would hinder their employment opportunities and impact local businesses and Leicester’s economy.
