Purpose: 1. To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO hereafter) proposing the introduction of a 20mph speed restriction on the following roads: C25 High Street, UC 4264 Coombe Lane, UC 4266 Blind Lane, and Kings Lane, Ansty 2. To recommend proceeding with the introduction of the TRO as advertised.
Content: 1. To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO hereafter) proposing the introduction of a 20mph speed restriction on the following roads: C25 High Street, UC 4264 Coombe Lane, UC 4266 Blind Lane, and Kings Lane, Ansty 2. To recommend proceeding with the introduction of the TRO as advertised. Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to implement the proposals as advertised, and that objectors be advised accordingly. If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue, please do so by 3 July 2025. 1. The Council’s proposals are supported by the elected Wiltshire Council Member, Ansty Parish Council and the correspondents who wrote in during the formal TRO consultation period. 2. The proposals are in accordance with Themes 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Council’s Business Plan. 1. To: (i) Implement the proposed TRO as advertised. (ii) Amend the proposed TRO in consideration of the comments received. (iii)Abandon the proposals. Consultation has been undertaken with: The elected Wiltshire Council Member representing Ansty Ansty Parish Council through the statutory TRO consultation process Members of the South West Wiltshire Local Highways & Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG hereafter) Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process A TRO proposing a new 20mph speed limit in Ansty was formally advertised for comment on the 13th March 2025. The Council's closing date for receipt of objections or other representations to the advertised TRO, together with the grounds on which they were made, was the 7th April 2025. During the formal TRO consultation period a total of fifteen items of correspondence were received in response to the Council’s proposals. Of those fifteen correspondents, thirteen indicated that they supported the Council’s proposals, one supported the Council’s proposals but wanted them to go further, and one objected to the Councill’s proposals. The elected Wiltshire Council Member for Ansty did not submit any comments during the formal TRO consultation period but has indicated their support for the proposals through the LHFIG process.
