Cabinet approved the Service Plan and Enforcement Policy (as detailed in Annex 1 to the Cabinet report). This is to ensure that the regulation of food businesses within the District is conducted in line with the Food Standards Agency regulatory framework and that the Local Authority meets its statutory duties. The alternative is not to implement the plan. However this option was not chosen because it would mean that Thanet District Council would not be able to meet its statutory obligations under Legislation and the Food Law Code of Practice Statutory Guidance.
