Purpose:

Content: The Chief Executive presented the report which sought Staffing Committee approval to progress with the recruitment of a permanent Director of Resources (s151 Officer) and approve the interim arrangements pending the permanent appointment. The recommendation to appoint would be required to proceed to Full Council in due course as required by the Constitution.   Following the resignation of the current Director of Resources (s151), Staffing Committee were asked to approve the commencement of a recruitment process to replace the post holder on a permanent basis.   Staffing Committee were responsible for the appointment and the terms and conditions of Chief Officers and Statutory Officers. The Director of Resources role was also the Chief Finance Officer (s151 Officer), and therefore was a Statutory role.   The Committee discussed the report and members were provided with details on the recruitment process.   RESOLVED, that staffing committee   1.         Approve commencement of the recruitment process for the Director of Resources (s151).   2.         Agree to progressing with the appointment of a suitable candidate to the role on terms and conditions in accordance with the Council’s usual contractual terms for this post and the following salary:   3.         Recommend to Full Council on the 27th February 2025 the Interim arrangements for Interim Chief Finance Officer (s151) pending appointment to the permanent post.   4.         Note the resultant changes to line management required pending the recruitment to the Director of Resources (s151) officer post outlined in the report.
