Purpose:

Content: Cabinet considered the report of the Director of Governance and Monitoring Officer which requested that Cabinet appoint or nominate elected Members to represent the Council on the outside organisations as set out in Appendices A and B to the report.   Councillor Karen Shore, Deputy Leader of the Council, led the discussion on the item as proposer and the item was seconded by Councillor Paul Donovan, Cabinet Member for Democracy, Workforce and Communities.   Councillor Shore advised of the following additions to the proposed appointments contained within the published Appendix B:   ·         Councillor Gina Lewis be appointed to the Mersey Forest Steering Committee ·         Councillor Sherin Akhtar be appointed to the Transport for the North Scrutiny Committee   DECIDED:    That   The appointments as set out above be accepted and elected members be appointed to represent the Council on the outside organisations as set out in Appendix B to the report.   Reason for Decision   To ensure continued engagement, influence and partnership with the outside bodies and to make appointments required by statute.   Alternative Options   Cabinet could decide not to make the appointments as recommended by this report.
