Content: Resolved by Assistant Director for Health Communities and Insight   (i)              Approve the honorarium payment for Museum Development Officer for covering additional duties of the Commercial & Operations Manager role from 14 April 2025 for a period of six months until 1 October 2025. (ii)             Approve the reallocation of vacancy savings to support the honorarium payment, based on the additional responsibilities undertaken.   Due to the vacancy of the Commercial & Operations Manager role, the Museum Development Officer will be covering a significant portion of these duties alongside their existing responsibilities.   While they already undertake some of these tasks at a more junior level, this temporary arrangement requires them to assume additional strategic and operational responsibilities beyond their substantive post.   Commercial & Operations Manager (Substantive) is currently on maternity leave until June 2025 but will remain on annual leave until 1 October 2025.   Commercial & Operations Manager (Maternity Cover) was covering the substantive role but will leave the position on 6 April 2025, creating a two-month vacancy gap before the return of the substantive manager.   This results in a vacancy saving of £7,975, which can contribute towards the honorarium payment for the Museum Development Officer.   The Museum Development Officer role has been considered for this honorarium due to the fact that it already encompasses many of these duties at a more junior level.   We initially explored the option of appointing an interim General Manager consultant to fill the gap left by the vacancy of the Commercial & Operations Manager role. An open advertisement was placed for this position to ensure a comprehensive search for a suitable candidate. However, after a thorough recruitment process, no candidates were identified who met the specific requirements for the role, nor did we find any feasible candidates to move forward with.   Given the absence of a viable interim candidate, we decided that the best course of action was to temporarily redistribute the responsibilities among existing team members, particularly the Museum Development Officer, ensuring that the operational and commercial needs of the museum continue to be met during this transitional period.
