Purpose: To consider the report of the Chief Executive.

Content: Consideration was given to the report of the Chief Executive, as contained on pages 25 to 28 of the Book of Reports, which sought to elect the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Council until the Annual Meeting in 2026.   The Mayor invited nominations for the appointment of Leader.   The following nominations were moved and seconded: ·       Councillor Yvonne Gagen ·       Councillor David Whittington ·       Councillor Adrian Owens   Councillors Gagen, Whittington and Owens accepted the nominations.   A vote was taken in respect of the three nominations. Following the vote, the nominee with the lowest number of votes, Councillor Owens, was removed.   A furter vote was taken in respect of Councillor Gagen and Councillor Whittington. Councillor Gagen receiving the highest number of votes.   Councillor Yvonne Gagen indicated her acceptance to the position as Leader.   The Mayor invited nominations for the appointment of Deputy Leader of the Council.   The following nominations were moved and seconded: ·       Councillor Gareth Dowling ·       Councillor Eddie Pope   Councillors Dowling and Pope accepted the nominations.   A vote was taken.  Councillor Gareth Dowling receiving the highest number of votes.   Councillor Gareth Dowling indicated his acceptance to the position as Deputy Leader of the Council.   RESOLVED:   A. That Councillor Yvonne Gagen be elected as the Leader of the Council for the Municipal Year 2025/26.   B. That Councillor Gareth Dowling be elected as the Deputy Leader of Council for the Municipal Year 2025/26.
