Purpose: To approve the allocation of the Grant from Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board
Content: The Communities Development Manager introduced the report on behalf of the Community Health & Wellbeing Manager. SDC had been awarded £70k from the Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) for a fixed term data analyst and mapping post. SDC, Forest of Dean District Council (FoDDC) and Cotswold District Council (CDC) had worked to build closer partnership working to tackle rural health and inequality challenges. FoDDC and CDC had created a tool to help identify areas of need which used internal and external partner data sets to create ‘heat maps’. These identified the different health and inequality measures in their districts which would help partners administer targeted approaches. Improved health outcomes would be identified as part of the role and to ensure SDC were working in the correct priority areas. She listed examples of wellbeing partnerships which were listed throughout the Council Plan. The role would support the collaborative working of Gloucestershire rural district councils, the ICB and voluntary sector and demonstrated the ICB commitment to tackle health inequalities. Proposed by Councillor Hamilton, seconded by Councillor Edmunds. Councillor Edmunds gave his thanks to the Officers and explained that knowledge and collaborative working were key. He advised it was a great initiative and would allow SDC to map data in rural areas to identify previously unknown knowledge of health inequalities. The Chair, Councillor Brown, advised that the data and mapping carried out by the post could also adapt part of the Climate Change Strategy. Councillor Hamilton thanked the Officers for the report and explained the analysis from the data source would identify gaps in provision and provide clarity of where future resources would be needed in the district. On being put to the vote, the Motion was carried unanimously. RESOLVED a) To approve the allocation of the ICB Grant. b) Delegate authority to Strategic Director of Communities, in consultation with the Chair & Vice Chair of CommunityServices and Licensing, to make any amendments to the proposed allocation value.
