Purpose: To consider of the results of the recent consultation on the subject of fishing on Stanley Park Lake and to identify and set out for agreement a proposed way forward in terms of the future use of the lake for fishing.
Content: To consider of the results of the recent consultation on the subject of fishing on Stanley Park Lake and to identify and set out for agreement a proposed way forward in terms of the future use of the lake for fishing. The Deputy Leader of the Council agreed the recommendations as outlined above namely: To agree to allow fishing on Stanley Park Lake, within a designated area, as highlighted on the map at Appendix ‘A’. To agree to the Parks Service working in conjunction with the Friends of Stanley Park, the Angling Trust and interested individuals to establish a Stanley Park Fishing Club, who ultimately manage the fishing activity. To agree to amend the Parks and Green Spaces Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to encompass the designated fishing area and the area where fishing is prohibited, see Appendix B. To agree that the Public Protection Service oversee the designated fishing area, whilst a fishing club is being established and enforce the area where fishing is prohibited under the PSPO.
