Purpose:

Content: Following work on drafting a new corporate plan and undertaking public engagement last year, this report summarises the responses to the engagement and presents the draft corporate plan, ‘Our district, our world’. The report recommended that Council adopts the draft corporate plan, provided in Appendix 3.   Councillor Akuffo-Kelly left the meeting at 20:20hrs.   Members raised several points, including: solar panels, the importance of the Corporate Plan Working Group, and whether the word ‘Nuclear’ should or should not be included within the plan. Discussions were heard for and against the inclusion of ‘Nuclear’.   Members thanked the officers for their hard work and expressed the importance and appreciation for the inclusive cross-party approach in finalising the plan.   Proposed by Councillor Jim Martin, Seconded by Councillor Tim Prater; and,   RESOLVED:   1.         That report A/25/13 be received and noted. 2.         That the draft corporate plan ‘Our district, our world’, provided in Appendix 3 of the report be approved.   (Voting Figures: 17 For, 0 Against, 6 Abstention)
