Outcome:
Is Key Decision?: No
Is Callable In?: No
Purpose:
Content: Councillor Baldock introduced the report that sought Cabinet’s approval of the revised Local Development Scheme There were two options in the report Option one: To approve the revised Local Development Scheme (Appendix 1) as set out in this report as it is a statutory requirement to have one in place and it will allow the council to meet the Government’s deadline. Option two: To amend the revised Local Development Scheme (Appendix 1) The Cabinet discussed the report, and the following points were made: Support was given for the new timetable especially given the huge amount of feedback from residents which was welcomed but needs to be carefully considered. Changes to National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) had kickstarted the need to go back out for consultation and members of the public were encouraged to comment on the new Local Plan but all previous comments made would be considered and will be passed to planning inspector. It was clarified the consultation will be open as long as possible, but the exact dates are to be confirmed. It was proposed, seconded and when put to a recorded vote RESOLVED: To approve the revised Local Development Scheme (Appendix 1) as set out in this report Record of the voting: For (7): Councillors Baldock, Dawkins, Castle, Charlotte Cornell, Chris Cornell, Hazelton and Ricketts Against: None Abstained: None Reason for the decision: To ensure that the council complies with the relevant legal requirements, and to meet government deadlines for submission of the new Local Plan for its examination following further consultation feedback from stakeholders and residents.
