Purpose:

Content: Following an appropriate procurement exercise having been carried out, to award a contract valued at £44950 to Nene Properties for the purpose of undertaking the works listed below at Chatteris Leisure Centre.   - Reception area carpet - Industrial scrub and clean    - Dance studio floor - Cover with Gerflor Taraflex Multi-use in light cherry or maple colour. This just needs laying on top of the existing floor.    - Male & Female Changing rooms - Replace all flooring and x2 electric showers (x1 in each room). Look to remove existing tiles and replace walls with Altro Whiterock PVC panels in white.    - Water tank in plant room – Replace like for like   - Painting - Gym and Studio sky lights. This is just water damage to the internal sill area around the sky light instead of any of the wider wall areas following previous issue with the skylights that have since been replaced.   - Roof - Clean the roof solar panels and sky lights dirt build up externally .   At Cabinet in June 2025, Cabinet agreed Chatteris Leisure Centre condition survey works were a Phase 1 Fenland Inspire! project. The condition of the leisure centre was assessed and works identified to be delivered by Autumn 2025. Council, in February 2025, agreed a budget for leisure condition survey works.   A prior review of the facility highlighted a small number of wear and tear issues following the 13 years that the facility has been open.  The award of this contract as proposed will enable the required refurbishment works to be completed which in turn will ensure the facility is fit for purpose for the next decade.    Carry out no works and repair as necessary from time to time once facility is more worn out or dilapidated. This will put the facility on the same track as the older leisure centres with the Council avoiding costs but building up a substantial repair bill in future years. It would also be contrary to the expectations of Cabinet who authorised the procurement of the works and the associated budget at their meeting of 24th February 2025.
