Purpose: To approve council house adaptation in excess of £50,000.00

Content: Approval of Council House Adaptation ref. CHA 2348   Delegated Decision Ref: 25/08/H   That the contract for adaptation of a council house ref. CHA 2348 for a value of £62,190.00 be awarded to PB Property developments Ltd.   The Private Sector Housing Service completes approximately 120 adaptations a year in Council owned properties. These works include door widening’s, ramp access, stair lifts, ceiling track hoists, level access showers, wet rooms, kitchen adaptations and extensions.   The Private Sector Housing grants team received a referral on 05 June 2024 from the Occupational Therapy team at Nottinghamshire County Council requesting a disabled adaptation for a vulnerable adult with complex health needs living at the property where the adaptions are proposed. The referral requested an extension for a bathroom adaptation as well as a wash/dry toilet. The works have been assessed by the Occupational Therapy team and have been determined to be necessary and appropriate to meet the needs of the disabled applicant. The referral has also been assessed by MDC Technical Surveyors as reasonable and practicable having regard to the age and condition of the property.   This decision relates to the awarding of the contract to PB Property developments Ltd.   Substantial time has been spent working with the family to identify alternative suitable accommodation, or accommodation that can be adapted at a lower cost. Unfortunately, alternative accommodation is not available.
