Purpose: A section of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing policy was found to be contradictory, in that an offence was duplicated: Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (s.47 Offences Against the Person Act) appears in both the Very Serious Violence and Other Violence category. Reviewing the seriousness of the offence, if belongs in neither of these sections but should be in the Serious Violence section. It's therefore proposed to delete this offence from the Very Serious Violence and Other Violence and insert it into the Serious Violence section.
