Purpose:
Content: The Committee received for information a financial update on the Ring-Fenced Funds, which was set up in 2015/16, following receipts generated by the surrender of part of the long lease to be used for the ‘management, maintenance and enhancement of the Green’. The £275,000 had been placed in an earmarked reserve and interest is added each year equivalent to the average interest rate earned on all Council investments. Officers advised the Committee that the balance of the fund as of 1 April 2024 was £238,647. The balance of the fund as of 1 April 2025 was £218,718. The Committee was keen to look at options for utilising the funds wisely, for the correct purposes and to be of value to all residents. Officers were therefore asked to prepare a report on possible use of funds for the next Committee for Members consideration.
