Purpose:

Content: The Committee was asked to consider two applications received from Englefield Green Cricket Club.   A Sponsor’s Day on 13th July 2025 and a Presidents Day on 24th August 2025.   Officers advised the Committee that the lighting of BBQ’s was prohibited under the terms of the Englefield Green byelaws and lease.  The Committee was disappointed to note that BBQs were prohibited, noting that BBQs had been allowed in the past.   Officers advised the Committee that the use of BBQs on all Green Spaces in the Borough was prohibited.   It was noted that the use of gazebos would need consent from the Crown Estate, therefore Officers would contact the Crown Estate on this matter.     Resolved that:   The application from the Englefield Green Cricket Club to hold a Sponsor’s Day on 13th July 2025 be approved, subject to the Cricket Club being advised that no BBQ’s are permitted and the Crown Estate give consent for the erection of gazebos for the event.     The application from the Englefield Green Cricket Club to hold a Presidents Day on 24th August 2025 be approved, subject to the Cricket Club being advised that no BBQ’s are permitted and the Crown Estate give consent for the erection of gazebos for the event.
