Is Key Decision?: No

Is Callable In?: Yes

Purpose:

Content: To extend the contract for a further 12 months (July 2026) with Environtec to provide asbestos consultancy services. The original contract from 2022 had a mechanism to extend the contract for up to a maximum of 4 years. There is a statutory duty to manage asbestos within buildings and this contract enables the councils to meet their obligations in this regard. The approx. value of this contract is anticipated to be approx. £95,000.00. A reduced uplift (5.7%) over the originally tendered rate of (6.7%) has been negotiated with Environtec. There have been no previous uplifts to the rates since the contract was entered into in 2022 but at the end of year three a rate increase was previously built into the contract. BMG approval has been granted for this expenditure. The existing contract pricing terms are coming to an end on the 18th July 2025 and therefore agreement is required to extend this contract with the adjusted uplift of 5.7% for a further 12 months. Re-tender the consultancy services but this will take up unavailable officer time to facilitate or require the use of outsourced consultants to support a new procurement process. The consultant has also been performing well to date.
