Purpose: This report sets out the results of the recent informal consultation for a proposed controlled parking zone (CPZ) extension to include Dixwell Road (South), Cliff Road, Metropole Road East & West, and a section on The Leas. The consultation was designed to seek the views of residents and businesses within the local area about possible changes to the current parking arrangements.
Content: This report sets out the results of the recent informal consultation for a proposed controlled parking zone (CPZ) extension to include Dixwell Road (South), Cliff Road, Metropole Road East & West, and a section on The Leas. The consultation was designed to seek the views of residents and businesses within the local area about possible changes to the current parking arrangements. DECISION: 1. To receive and note report C/25/24. 2. That the scheme is halted as the response rate does not meet the expected threshold. 3. That subject to a statutory consultation, an overnight motor caravan ban is introduced in the area to address the overnight camping issues highlighted by residents of Metropole Road East & West. 4. That officers investigate the obstructive parking issues highlighted by residents of Metropole Road East & West, and seek to introduce access highlight markings (dogbones) and/or waiting restrictions in areas where parked vehicles impede access. Reasons for decision: The Cabinet Member for Transport is asked to agree the recommendations because the proposals will help alleviate problems experienced by residents in these areas
