Purpose:
Content: To approve the submission of an application to the Secretary of State for consent under section 25 of the Local Government Act 1988; and Subject to the consent of the Secretary of State, to approve the disposal of the properties detailed in the exempt appendix to Horsham District Homes (Holdings) Limited by way of five year leases at affordable rents. The Council provides affordable housing through Horsham District Homes (Holdings) Limited, a subsidiary of Horsham District Homes Limited which is wholly owned by Horsham District Council. The Council may require the consent of the Secretary of State in relation to the provision of a gratuitous benefit as the lease to the Council’s housing company is at a sub-market rent. The Council will also rely on a general consent under section 32 of the Housing Act 1985, if and when required. None. The properties have been acquired in order to provide homes at affordable rents. The Council owns a company which it uses as a vehicle through which to deliver affordable homes. None
