Purpose:

Content: To carry out public engagement on Local Government Reorganisation Public engagement is one of the requirements in the Government’s criteria for evaluating Local Government Reorganisation. The timing is driven by the Government’s requirement for Horsham District Council to submit its proposal on or before 26 September 2025.   The Council could not engage with the public. This was rejected because it would undermine its proposal for reorganisation by not meeting a criteria set by the Government.   The Council could start its engagement earlier, but this timing was agreed with the other Leaders to allow them time to get the evidence to reduce the number of options presented to the public, thereby making the engagement clearer for those taking part. None.
