The reason for the decision is that a compliant procurement exercise has been undertaken in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 5, and the winning bidder has been identified as providing the most advantageous offer to the Council. That, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule5.3.2, a contract be awarded to the winning bidder as identified in Appendix B for the purchase of six (6) 26t Refuse Vehicles. (ii) That the Procurement Team be authorised to make the necessary arrangements for the issue of the relevant contract documentation after the conclusion of the standstill period / call-in period. Do Nothing: This option was considered and rejected as continuing to work with the current existing life expired vehicles would not provide the productivity and reliability levels required by the Waste Management Service. The hiring of six 26t refuse vehicle was also considered but rejected due to the excessive costs associated and the limited availability of these vehicles.
