Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities
Outcome:
Is Key Decision?: No
Is Callable In?: Yes
Purpose:
Content: To approve the purchase of 1 x electric powered Community Hub vehicle. To approve the award of the required purchase contract to the supplier selected pursuant to the relevant framework agreement (“the contract”). To delegate authority to the Director of Communities in consultation with the Head of Legal & Democratic Services to finalise the terms and conditions of and enter into the contract. The existing vehicle is now due for replacement as it has come to the end of its useful economic life. The cost of a new electric powered vehicle is above £100,000 but below the key decision threshold. Purchasing a diesel / HVO vehicle has been explored but this does not meet with the Council’s aspiration to be carbon neutral by 2030 and there is an electric version that has the range required. Hiring a Community Hub vehicle to the Council’s specification is not possible and vehicles of this type are not commonly available for hire. None.
