Purpose: As part of a new residential development on Latimer Street, Anstey, it was required to: remove approximately 7.3m of the existing ‘Limited Waiting 1 hour no return within 1 hour Mon-Sat 8am-6pm except resident’s parking permit holders’; and to install ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions for this 7.3m length. The length of these alterations would cover the newly constructed site access. This sought to protect the visibility splays when accessing Latimer Street from the new development and mitigate any potentially obstructive on-street parking, ensuring a safe Highway environment. It was also proposed to reconfigure the existing ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions to the southern end of Latimer Street to create 11m of ‘Limited Waiting 1 hour no return within 1 hour Mon-Sat 8am-6pm except resident’s parking permit holders’ parking bays. This sought to compensate for the reduced availability of on-street parking adjacent the new residential development.
