Purpose: The CRSTS Bath to Bristol Strategic Corridor (BBSC) project includes a toucan crossing at the Newbridge Road/ Old Newbridge Hill junction. Early delivery of this crossing is proposed to be carried out by B&NES with the MCA (Mayoral Combined Authority) supporting this early delivery. The crossing is proposed to be constructed in August 2025 (during the summer holidays to limit impact on the A4), with Volker’s carrying this out under the B&NES/ Volker’s term highway maintenance and improvement works contract. Capital funding for this is provided by the MCA to B&NES.
