Purpose: To consider representations made to the advertisement of Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO’s) in relation to waiting restrictions in Amesbury, Durrington and Figheldean and School ‘Keep Clear’ marking in Middle Woodford and to recommend an appropriate way forward.

Content: To consider representations made to the advertisement of Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO’s) in relation to waiting restrictions in Amesbury, Durrington and Figheldean and School ‘Keep Clear’ marking in Middle Woodford and to recommend an appropriate way forward. Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to implement the proposals as advertised, and that objector be advised accordingly.   If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue, please do so by 1 August 2025. There have been no objections to the proposals in Amesbury. Implementing the waiting restrictions would support the aim of the proposed restrictions to deter long term parking by large vehicles on the Solstice Park industrial estate in Amesbury.   There have been no objections to the proposals in Figheldean. These proposals ensure visibility to junctions remains unrestricted by parked vehicles.   There have been no objections to the proposal in Middle Woodford. The relocation of on street parking from the car parking entrance to Woodford Valley C of E Primary Academy in Middle Woodford will help address the issues of congestion on the C42 and improve safety at school start and finish times.   Whilst there have been objections to the proposals in Durrington. These proposals ensure visibility to junctions remains unrestricted by parked vehicles and assist with enforcing the requirements of the Highway Code which prohibit parking within 10m of a junction.   The proposals are in accordance with priorities 2 and 3 in Wiltshire Council’s Business Plan 2022-2032.   The proposals have the support of the locally elected members, Stonehenge Local Highway Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG) and Area Board. To:         i.         Implement the proposals as advertised.        ii.         Implement the proposals as advertised with amendments.       iii.         Abandon the proposals. Consultation has been undertaken with:   ·       The elected Wiltshire Council Members through the statutory TRO consultation process. ·       Amesbury and Durrington Town Councils and Figheldean and Woodford Parish Councils through the statutory TRO consultation process. ·       Members of the Stonehenge Local Highways & Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG). ·       Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process. ·       Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process.   The proposed TRO’s were subject to formal consultation between 23rd January 2025 and 17th February 2025. During the consultation period a total of thirteen items of correspondence were received in response to the Council’s proposals.   Seven of the thirteen comments received have been considered as objections and all relate to the proposed waiting restrictions in Durrington.   Five comments in support were received in relation to the waiting restriction proposals in Amesbury   No comments were received in relation to the proposals for Figheldean.   One comment in support was received in relation to the school ‘Keep Clear’ in Middle Woodford   The proposals have been developed following prioritisation by the Stonehenge Local Highways & Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG) and endorsement by Stonehenge Area Board.
