Purpose:
Content: The Committee considered nominations from Group Leaders for appointments to various outside bodies. The Committee were advised that historically, most appointments have been made annually. However, now that the Council no longer has annual elections, the Committee may wish to consider making its appointments for the remainder of the lifetime of the Council, unless the body’s constitution provides for a specified term of office. In some cases, the current status of the body was uncertain. Officers will seek to clarify the position and confirm with Group Leaders. RESOLVED: That the Committee: 1. confirm the appointments to outside bodies for 2024-25 as set out in the schedule appended to the minutes; and 2. agree that the appointments shall be for the remainder of the lifetime of the Council, unless the body’s constitution provides for a specified term of office.
