The Cabinet considered the report of the Director of Finance and Performance, seeking its approval of the new Procurement Strategy.   The Policy and Performance Advisory Committee (PPAC), held on 3 July 2025 considered the report and was supportive of the officer recommendations in full. Councillor Brett, Chair of PPAC, was in attendance to report on PPAC’s discussion.   The Cabinet members welcomed the new procurement strategy which focused on value for money but also incorporated the Council’s objectives for sustainability, local procurement, social value and climate adaptation and risk.  Thanks were extended to James White for leading on its development.   Resolved (Non-key decision):   To approve a new joint Procurement Strategy for Lewes and Eastbourne Councils.   Reason for decision:   Following the introduction of the new Procurement Act 2023, which came into force if February 2025, this Strategy ensures the Council has the right measures in place to deliver value for money in its procurement activity.
