Purpose: To report on the activities and performance of the Treasury Management service during 2024/25.

Content: To report on the activities and performance of the Treasury Management service during 2024/25. The Cabinet considered the report of the Director of Finance and Performance, providing an annual review of treasury management activities.   The Audit and Governance Committee, held on 7 July 2025 had received a report and were supportive the recommendations in full.  Councillor Gauntlett, Chair of Audit and Governance, was in attendance to report on the Committee’s discussion.     Councillor Nicholson highlighted the importance of the report in terms of stewarding the Council finances and investments and thanked the Deputy Finance Officer and his team for their work, recognising the challenges for investments and borrowing of inflation rate variations experienced this year.   Recommended to Full Council (Budget and policy framework):   (1) To approve the Treasury Management Annual Report 2024/25.   (2) To approve the 2024/25 Prudential and Treasury Indicators included in the report.   Reason for decisions:   Requirement of CIPFA Treasury Management in the Public Sector Code of Practice (the Code) and this has to be reported to Full Council.
