Purpose: This report sets out an outline of the role, purpose and background of the Audit Committee, as well as a summary of work undertaken throughout the 2024/25 financial year.

Content: Members received the annual report of the Chair of the Audit (AC), which outlined the role, purpose and background of the Committee, as well as a summary of the audit-related work undertaken throughout the 2024/25 financial year.  The Annual report to Council provided an opportunity for the AC to raise its profile within the Council and Members were invited to consider the report and suggest any changes. The previous Chair of the AC had considered and approved the report.       The AC was pleased to note the contents of the report and agreed that the report be approved, as drafted, for submission to full Council in September.             RECOMMENDED: That:   1)         the report be noted;   2)         the work of the Audit Committee be affirmed; and   3)         the report be approved for submission to full Council in September.
