Purpose: Revised allocation on committee seats from Annual Council

Content: At the Annual Council Meeting held on 14th May 2025, the council established committees and membership of those committees for the 2025/26 municipal year. A report before Members proposed some changes to the allocation of seats to political groups on the council’s committees and asks Full Council to approve revised membership of these committees in accordance with the nominations by political groups (Appendix A of the report).   The report also asked Full Council to appoint Members to the Council’s Joint Committees for the 2025/2026 municipal year as set out in Appendix B of the report and to appoint Council’s representatives on Outside Organisations for 2025/2026 (Appendix C of the report).   Cllr Barber asked for the Constitution Working Group to consider substitute members for Planning Committee.    Cllr Aspinell MOVED and Cllr Barrett SECONDED the recommendations in the report and following a discussion a vote was taken on a show of hands and it was RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:   R1:That the revised allocation of seats to political groups, and membership of the committees as set out in Appendix A of the report be approved.   R2. That the Council appoints Members to the Joint Committees for the 2025/26 municipal year as set out in Appendix B of the report.   R3. That the Council approves the appointment of Members to Outside Organisations for 2025/2026 as set out in Appendix C of the report.
