Purpose: This report seeks agreement to establish administrative capacity within the Business Support Service to support Public Health programmes.  

Content: This report seeks agreement to establish administrative capacity within the Business Support Service to support Public Health programmes.   That The Assistant Executive Director (Public Health) is recommended to agree to the allocation of £0.021m from the Public Health Grant to provide business support capacity to support public health programme as set out in section 4 in report. There is currently no dedicated Business Support Service in Public Health, with existing provision provided through adhoc support provided through resource in other teams and/or by wider public health team.  This is not sustainable given increasing pressure on public health regarding health protection matters, public health partnership programme activity and growing team requirements. Therefore, continuing the status quo was rejected.
