Content: This paper seeks permission to procure four hundred HP ProBook x360 435 Laptops for use by the hosted ICT service. The indicative total contract value is circa £250,000. It is proposed to undertake the procurement via a further competition using Crown Commercial Services Framework RM6098 Technology Products and Associated Services 2 - Lot 2.   That the Director of Corporate & Transformation Services (Cumberland) and Director of Enabler Services (Westmorland & Furness Council) authorised permission to procure of 400 HP ProBook x360 435 Laptops via a further competition using Crown Commercial Services Framework RM6098 Technology Products and Associated Services 2 - Lot 2.   Having laptops available for the former County ICT service to swifty deploy for new starters and to replace faulty devices is a key deliverable for the hosted ICT service and impacts on user satisfaction, business continuity and operational efficiency.   The procurement of four hundred devices to allow time for the hosted ICT service to identify a replacement model will mitigate any potential risk to the service of us not having available stock The alternative is to award a smaller contract for laptops and then move onto a replacement model as soon as possible when stock is exhausted of the current model.   This would come with the risk that if the identified replacement model is built around a substantially different technology stack, then there may be delays in the Hosted ICT services ability to build and deploy the devices which would put the safe and efficient delivery of the ICT service at risk.
