Purpose: On 25 June 2025 Executive Cabinet received the report ‘OUTCOME OF CONSULTATIONS TO OPEN SEN UNITS’ which approved the establishment of nine SEN units within Tameside mainstream schools.  The report also approved the allocation of £1.5m of High Needs Capital Grant to enable adaptation work and equipping of the new approved SEN units.  This £1.5m included a £0.270m general contingency pot but did not determine how that contingency pot was to be allocated.

DETERMINED That the £0.270m of contingency funding approved for the SEN Units in Tameside is allocated across the approved schemes to meet additional costs incurred, subject to verification by officers in the Education Capital Project Team.
