ROTHERHAM METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL RECORD OF OFFICER NON-EXECUTIVE DECISION Date of Decision: 7th August 2025 Title: In year implementation of future year’s pricing for Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park Decision Maker: (Including Job Title) Andrew Bramidge, Strategic Director, Regeneration & Environment Delegation contained in the relevant Sub-Scheme of Delegation. From sub scheme of delegation for Strategic Director of Regeneration and Environment, Page 26. “Operational management of Galleries, Museums, Designated Heritage Site(s), Music venues, Libraries, Parks, Country Parks, recreation grounds, play areas, picnic sites, camping and caravan sites countryside sites and other cultural, leisure, recreational, play, green space and tourism destinations and facilities, and all land held by the Council specifically for public open space and recreation. Maintenance, development and letting of cultural, leisure, tourism and green spaces buildings and land assets, in collaboration with Asset Management” Decision: To enable Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park to agree pricing a year ahead, to enable early sales of the following year’s occupancy.. Reasons for the Decision: Responding to the Cabinet report of February 2025 which stated ‘Country Parks (including Waleswood) – price increases above 2% to improve sustainability of business model.’ The exemptions in the Fees and Charges for 2025/26 also states for Waleswood charges ‘5% per annum for two years. 2026/27 set in advance to enable pre-sales - in line with market. In addition, permission is sought to flex fees and charges in-year, in order to respond to market demand.’ Pricing of future years’ bookings at Waleswood have historically been aligned to approval of the next year’s Fees and Charges in March. This has meant that customers wishing to book early have been charged at the previous year’s prices. Setting fees in advance will allow pricing for 2026/27 to be implemented at the moment bookings for that period would open (in September 2025). It is proposed that this be enacted similarly in future years, with pricing being agreed with the finance team. For 2026/226, prices have been determined at an average increase of 4.9% Conflicts of interest declared by the Decision Maker if they sit as a Cabinet appointed representative to an outside body which relates to the decision: None Dispensations Granted: (If any) None Reports or parts of reports considered Cabinet Report February 2025 Fees and Charges 2025/26 exemptions The report of Neil Best on ‘In year implementation of future year’s pricing for Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park’. I certify that this is a true record of the decision to: Implementation future year’s pricing in year for Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park. I confirm that in making this decision, due regard was given to the seven principles of public life.
