Purpose:
Content: To publish the updated Housing Allocation Policy from 1 September 2025. TDC’s Housing Allocation policy hasn’t been updated since March 2021. In November 2024, Cabinet approved the review and consultation of a revised Allocations policy, and included delegated authority to adopt the revised policy to the Head of Housing & Planning subject to any minor amendments. Since 2021 there has been a number of legislative changes including exemption with the Local connection criteria for Armed Forces Personnel, Domestic Abuse survivors and care leavers up to the age of 25. A public consultation has taken place with the key changes of the allocation policy during the 13 May to 15 June. There were 90 responses with the majority of those agreeing with the changes. Therefore the changes have been implemented into the updated policy along with legislative changes. Due to the legislative changes the policy needed to be updated.
