Purpose:

Content: Before the Committee was a report by the Assistant Director for Place and Economy, copies of which had been circulated to all Members and a copy of which is attached to the signed copy of these minutes as Item 11.   The report informed the committee of a proposal to grant a new lease for the Adur Outdoor Activity Centre to the proposed tenant, Adur Outdoor Activities Centre Ltd.   The report outlined the proposed transaction in the context of the District Council of Adur being the sole trustee of the ‘Adur Recreation Ground’ charity on which the Adur Outdoor Activity Centre sits.   Authority was sought to progress with the transaction subject to any representations received in relation to the section 121 Charities Act 2011 notice procedure which should be open until Monday 22nd September 2025.   Decision:   1.    That the successful bidder for the Adur Outdoor Activity Centre be approved as recommended subject to a successful consultation procedure under section 121 of the Charities Act 2011.   2.    That authority be delegated to the Assistant Director for Place & Economy in consultation with the Leader and the Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources of the District Council of Adur, authority to complete a lease of the Adur Outdoor Activity Centre in accordance with the agreed Heads of Terms and, subject to the outcome of the section 121 Charities Act 2011 notice execute all relevant legal documentation to effect the same.   Call In: The call-in deadline for decisions will be 5.00pm on 23 September 2025
