Purpose:
Content: Before the Committee was a report by the Assistant Director for People and Change, copies of which had been circulated to all Members and a copy of which is attached to the signed copy of these minutes as Item 12. The Committee were provided with a further update following the emergency closure of Grafton Multistorey car park on 16 May 2025. A detailed Summary Report prepared by HOP Engineering and MacConvilles Quantity Surveyors was attached, commissioned to assess the options and associated costs of repairing the car park to a safe standard and reopening options found at Appendix 1 to the report. Members were further advised of: Further work with affected stakeholders; Works to make the site safe whilst closed; Progress in marketing the site; To seek a decision regarding any investment in the car park to re-open it ahead of the site being disposed of for redevelopment. Decision: 1. That it be agreed that the car park should remain closed for public use whilst the work to transfer the site for redevelopment is pursued. 2. That progress on the marketing of the site for redevelopment be noted. 3. That as a gesture of goodwill, residents at Knightsbridge House be supported by creating seven temporary parking bays in the access bays to the Grafton car park, for the exclusive use of residents, prioritisation to be based on accessibility needs.
