Purpose:

Content: The Director of Economic Development and Planning submitted a report proposing amendments to the Local Housing Assistance Policy (DFG policy) and to consider two separate requests for discretionary disabled facilities grant assistance.   Minor amendments were proposed to the DFG Policy to provide greater clarity and assist when explaining the conditions of the grant to new applications. The revised policy was provided with the proposed changes in red for Member’s consideration.    The report also provided the details for consideration of a discretionary DFG award and a relocation assistance grant where it was not possible to adapt the applications current property.   RESOLVED THAT COMMITTEE:   1.    Approved the amendments to the Local Housing Assistance Policy.   2.    Approved the application set out at 3.2.1 to provide a discretionary grant of up to £50,000 in addition to the maximum grant award permitted in the policy.   3.    Approved the application set out at 3.2.2 to provide a relocation grant to assist in providing a property that would meet the needs of the applicant.     Councillor M Peplow left the meeting in respect of the next agenda item.
