Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to the confidential report of the Chief Executive that set out a proposed new senior management structure in the context of local government reorganisation and budget savings.    The proposal included the deletion of two posts, the creation of a new post and a redundancy; the proposed and current structures and potential severance costs were attached to the report at Appendices 1, 2 and 3 respectively.    Subject to agreement, formal consultation would progress in accordance with the details and key dates as set out at Appendix 4 to the report.  A Senior Officer Appointment Panel would be required and a recommendation made to full Council on 15 December 2025, with the proposed changes taking effect provisionally from 1 January 2026.    Members of the Committee agreed with the proposal before them and recommended that Council approve the Senior Management Team restructure and that the Chief Executive and Leader of the Council be authorised to proceed as outlined in the report.   Recommendation to COUNCIL: That:   1)   the proposed restructure within the Senior Management Team be approved; and   2)   the Chief Executive and Leader of the Council be authorised to proceed with the restructure.   (This matter was considered exempt from publication by virtue of paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended).
