Purpose: The purpose of this decision is to determine whether to launch a public consultation in advance of the development of the 2026/27 Corporate Action Plan and Budget. The Council annually sets a budget and Corporate Action Plan setting out how progress towards the council’s priorities will be achieved in the coming year. A consultation on this topic would better enable the public to have a say in the council’s plans for the forthcoming financial year.

Content: The purpose of this decision is to determine whether to launch a public consultation in advance of the development of the 2026/27 Corporate Action Plan and Budget. To carry out a consultation in advance of the development of the 2026/27 Corporate Action Plan and Budget. To ensure residents have an opportunity to feed into the decision making with regards the Council’s plans and budget. Option 1: To not carry out a consultation on the Council’s budget and Corporate Action Plan for 2026/27. Reason for Rejection: We value the views of our residents and want residents’ views to be incorporated into the process of planning and budget setting.
