Decision Maker: Assistant Director (Property and Assets) (Andrew Edwards)

Outcome:

Is Key Decision?: Yes

Is Callable In?: Yes

Purpose: The County Council has a statutory duty to provide sufficient school places for all children who need a place.   Lindfield Primary Academy is a primary school based in Haywards Heath for pupils aged 4-11 years’ of age, managed and run by the University of Brighton Academies Trust.  The school is a 3 form entry (FE) school and in 2021 agreed to the County Council’s request to take a bulge class due to the additional need for primary pupil places in the Haywards Heath area.    Additional external play space and additional small temporary group space (outdoor classrooms) are required so sufficient facilities are provided to accommodate the increased pupil numbers.  Section 106 monies are available to fund a project for provision of these additional facilities and it is proposed that this is delivered by the school via a school managed project.  Approval is now sought for the passporting of the required S106 funds to the school to enable delivery of the project.
