Decision Maker: Assistant Director Housing, Homelessness & Prevention (CLT)

Outcome:

Is Key Decision?: No

Is Callable In?: Yes

Purpose:

Content: To award the Replacement Community Alarm/Door Entry System Contract for the Leaseholder flats at Courtfields Sheltered Housing Scheme, Elm Grove, Lancing to Abmec Ltd t/a ABBA Mechatronics, following a procurement exercise, in the sum of £72,356.68 plus VAT.     The works will replace the end of life Community Alarm System installed within the flats and the current dispersed alarm units that are working in place of the old systems. The new system will enhance the security of the communal entrance to each block by having a new door entry system installed. The new system will also provide each flat with new smoke and heat detection. In addition to this, the tenanted side of Courtfields already has the new system installed and so by installing the same on the Leasehold side will mean the new system can be serviced and maintained easily with an economy of scale benefit. A significant % of the cost will be collected through the leasehold sinking fund for the scheme which mitigates the costs for individual leaseholders Alternative options have been previously considered, however the option to install the same/matching system as that installed to the tenanted side of Courtfields is the most suitable solution.
