Purpose: 1. To: (i) Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls on various roads in Trowbridge and surrounding Parishes (Hilperton, North Bradley, Southwick & West Ashton). (ii) Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) with minor amendments to the advertised proposal.
Content: 1. To: (i) Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls on various roads in Trowbridge and surrounding Parishes (Hilperton, North Bradley, Southwick & West Ashton). (ii) Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) with minor amendments to the advertised proposal. Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to make the decision set out in the attached report. If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue, please do so by 9 October 2025. 6. The proposals are intended to improve road and pedestrian safety and to allay concerns of safety expressed by residents. 7. The proposal has the support of the locally elected members, Wiltshire Council, Trowbridge Town Council, Hilperton, North Bradley, Southwick and West Ashton Parish Council’s and Trowbridge Local Highway Footway Improvement Group and Area Board. 5. To: (i) Implement the proposals as advertised. (ii) Not implement the proposals. (iii) Implement the proposals with amendments. 2. Consultation has been undertaken with: The elected Wiltshire Council Member through the statutory TRO consultation process. The elected Devizes Town Council through the statutory TRO consultation process Members of the Devizes Local Highways & Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG) Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process 3. The proposed TROs were subject to formal consultation between 31st January and 24th February 2025. During the consultation period a total of fourteen items of correspondence were received in response to the Council’s proposals. Of these, seven were in objection, one in support and six made general comments to the proposals. 4. The proposal has been developed following prioritisation by the Trowbridge Local Highways & Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG) and endorsement by Trowbridge Area Board.
