Content: 1. To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of two proposed raised crossings at Castle Street (Mortimer Street) and Brown Street, Trowbridge and to recommend an appropriate way forward. Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to make the decision set out in the attached report. If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue please do so by 9 October 2025. 5. It is proposed to proceed as advertised in relation to the raised crossings. The provision of these crossings provides an enhanced facility for walking, wheeling and cycling, completing key parts of the active travel network and links to and from Trowbridge Town Centre and improving accessibility for all non-motorised users. It is considered that the crossings will have minimal impact on the buses using these routes. 4. To: I. Implement the proposals as advertised. II. Abandon the proposals. 2. Consultation has been undertaken with: · The elected Wiltshire Council Member through the statutory TRO consultation process. · The elected Trowbridge Town Council through the statutory TRO consultation process · Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process · Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process 3. The proposed raised crossings were subject to formal consultation between 18th July 2025 and 11th August 2025. During the consultation period one item of correspondence was received in response to the Council’s proposals, setting out an objection.
