Purpose:
Content: The Committee noted the Service Area Plan progress report. Officers updated the Committee with regard to the broad range of activities undertaken by the Planning Service; including Climate Change and Sustainability, Development Management, Economic Development, Planning Policy, the Infrastructure and Developer Contributions sub-team, and Building Control. With regard to Planning Enforcement, as with other teams, Officers were mindful of Local Government Re-organisation and the level of resources which might be needed to meet demand in the future, whilst being aware of the need to balance corporate priorities. Officers were asked to confirm arrangements for forthcoming Carbon Literacy Training for Councillors, which a number of Members were keen to undertake. The report was duly noted by Members. Members noted that it was clear that a very significant amount of impressive work had been undertaken in the service and this was very apparent having seen it all written down in the report. Members extended their thanks to the staff within the whole team.
